Leonardo da Vinci: Anatomy

The “Anatomy” exhibiton at the Queen’s Gallery will explore Leonardo da Vinci’s studies of the human body. Long regarded as one of the greatest Renaissance artists, da Vinci was also a pioneer when it came to understanding the human anatomy.

Da Vinci planned to publish his findings after a series of studies and detailed dissections, but at his death in 1519 the drawings remained hidden in his private papers and lost to science for 400 years. Today they are among the Royal Collection’s greatest treasures.

The Queen’s Gallery next to Buckingham Palace showcases the best paintings and treasures from the Royal Collection through a series of changing exhibitions.

Kensington Gardens

Kensington Gardens will be hosting an enchanting theatrical experience this summer. A specially created pavillion with 1480 seats and a circular stage will act as a doorway into the magical land of Narnia.

CS Lewis’ “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” is one of our best-loved children’s tales, and this amazing mix of live theatre and puppetry, set against the backdrop of Kensington Palace, will prove to be one of the summer’s most memorable experiences.
