The Jubliee walk takes you on walking tour of London’s most iconic landmarks. It was initially designed to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 and the original route connected all of the city’s most famous sights, from Buckingham Palace to St St Paul’s Cathedral.

Now, inspired by the London 2012 Olympic games and the forthcoming celebrations of Her Majesty’s 60 years reign with The Diamond Jubilee the walk is now longer, exactly 60 kilometres long, one kilometre for each year of Her Majesty’s reign. The Jubilee Greenway Walk which is popular with cyclists as well as walkers is currently being waymarked so taking a map would be wise until work is complete. A map can be found here: http://www.walk4life.info/walk/jubilee-walkway-section-1

If your planning on visiting London in 2012 and planning on going on the Jubliee Walk why not book a room with us here at Kensington West. We are a friendly Kensington based hotel and one of the best budget London hotels .

‘The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz’ introduces us to some very familiar characters, years before they met Dorothy. One of them is a clever, lively lady with green skin, the other is superficial, beautiful and popular. Wicked, the tale of how they became the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch, has broken box office records at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

The musical is at its best in the first half, where a Hogwarts-esque school for witches forms the background for a very entertaining US High School comedy, with the usual mix of popular kids, geeks and rebels. Also familiar from the Harry Potter novels is the mixture of a serious political metaphor – the world of Oz slowly falling under the Wizard’s fascist regime – and child-friendly fantasy involving thrilling, high-budget broomstick flying scenes.

Recently a survey of over 11,000 travellers from around the world has found that the US, UK and Japan are the most desirable holiday destinations worldwide.

The Visa Global Travel Intentions Survey 2011 found that the most popular holiday destination worldwide was the United States, with the UK coming second. Japan holidays were the third most popular despite the tsunami in March this year. The survey revealed that the availability of cheap flights and other good deals was the most important factor influencing travellers’ choice of destination.

This is hardly surpirsing as the Uk offers the most cultural diversity with amazing scenery and a shopping paradise.

Those looking to stay in trendy Boutique London Hotels should check out Simply Rooms and Suites. And those on a tight budget should try one of the top Budget London hotels, us here at Kensington West.
