The “Anatomy” exhibiton at the Queen’s Gallery will explore Leonardo da Vinci’s studies of the human body. Long regarded as one of the greatest Renaissance artists, da Vinci was also a pioneer when it came to understanding the human anatomy.

Da Vinci planned to publish his findings after a series of studies and detailed dissections, but at his death in 1519 the drawings remained hidden in his private papers and lost to science for 400 years. Today they are among the Royal Collection’s greatest treasures.

The Queen’s Gallery next to Buckingham Palace showcases the best paintings and treasures from the Royal Collection through a series of changing exhibitions.

Olivier Theatre, National Theatre, Southbank, London

Antigone is an adaptation of the ancient Greek play by Sophocles. British actors Jodie Whittaker and Christopher Eccleston play the main parts. It’s about a war torn city and the fight to gain control over it. Creon (played by Christopher Eccleston) refuses to bury the body of Antigone’s ( Jodie Whittaker) rebellious brother. The people daren’t object but the prophet Teiresias warns that this tyranny will anger the gods; the rotting corpse is polluting the city.

With a number of dates running starting from Wednesday 23rd May, there should be plenty of time to get your tickets. The nearest tube is Waterloo. Tickets: Ticket prices range from £12 to £32, from nationaltheatre.org.uk
