DJ Yoda at Roundhouse in Camden

DJ Yoda, real name Duncan Beiny was born in London and is well known as a hip hop turntablist who uses samples to create a cartoony musical style.  This coming saturday he is presenting an evening of audiovisual entertainment at the Roundhouse in Camden.  Tickets cost £14.50 – £19.50.

DJ Yoda’s work fuses the senses of sight and sound which provide visual images to entertain and surprise the audience whilst supporting his audio creations.

The Proms – Royal Albert Hall

The Proms concerts are the most famous events held at London’s Albert Hall. Originally they were held in the Queen’s hall on South bank until it was bombed by the Germans in 1941.

For seven weeks every summer, visiting orchestras, famous soloists and conductors join in with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. This year there is a Prom first.. a Comedy Prom by comedian Tim Minchin.  This Saturday at the Royal Albert Hall starting at 7.30pm.

We are a just a couple of miles from the Hall and we still have some rooms available.

Planet Earth Live 30th July O2

“Planet Earth Live” is a spectacular live music event which will accompany scenes from the BBC television series “Planet Earth”. The music will be provided by Emmy Award-winning composer George Fenton, mezzo-soprano Haley Glennie-Smith, and the BBC Concert Orchestra.  The Concert is based at London O2 Arena which is London’s premier concert venue seating 23,000 which makes it one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe

Buckingham Palace in London is Queen Elizabeth II’s Official Residence. Every August and September our Queen goes up to Scotland and Buckingham Palace opens up for visitors. Opening this coming Saturday 23rd July right through until 25th September 2011, visitors can view nineteen State Rooms which are still in use by the Royal Family.  The lavish interior is pretty impressive, the furniture is English and French made, but of course the finest in the world.  Paintings on the walls include Rubens, Rembrandt and Canaletto.

This year visitors are in for a real treat as they can see the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress on display.   Designed beautifully by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the dress was kept secret until the very first moment Kate Middleton appeared on the 29 April.  Also on display will be the tiara, earrings and shoes the Duchess wore.

Visiting Buckingham palace is a must see London Attraction, its history dates back many centuries. The most famous address in the world has hosted a number of world famous events. The recent Royal wedding of Wills and Kate, The Coronation and Jubilee, and sadly the funeral of Wills mum Princess Diana.  Many Kings and dignitaries visit and many awards ceremonies take place there.

Bed Bugs Sleepover at London Zoo – 15th July

If your children are  between 11 and 14 this experience at London Zoo is a great experience.   They will spend the night in BUGS! alongside the spiders, beetles and tamarins (all safely behind glass).  With plenty of activities before bedtime including animal talks, games and story-telling sessions. The highlight will be a night time tour around the zoo, so they can see what goes on once all of the visitors have gone home.  Many of the animals are more active at night, so they’ll be able to see what they get up to as we search the zoo by torchlight.
