Visit Buckingham palace
Buckingham Palace in London is Queen Elizabeth II’s Official Residence. Every August and September our Queen goes up to Scotland and Buckingham Palace opens up for visitors. Opening this coming Saturday 23rd July right through until 25th September 2011, visitors can view nineteen State Rooms which are still in use by the Royal Family. The lavish interior is pretty impressive, the furniture is English and French made, but of course the finest in the world. Paintings on the walls include Rubens, Rembrandt and Canaletto.
This year visitors are in for a real treat as they can see the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress on display. Designed beautifully by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the dress was kept secret until the very first moment Kate Middleton appeared on the 29 April. Also on display will be the tiara, earrings and shoes the Duchess wore.
Visiting Buckingham palace is a must see London Attraction, its history dates back many centuries. The most famous address in the world has hosted a number of world famous events. The recent Royal wedding of Wills and Kate, The Coronation and Jubilee, and sadly the funeral of Wills mum Princess Diana. Many Kings and dignitaries visit and many awards ceremonies take place there.
